Camp ignites passion for music and literacy
Aug. 1, 2019
This summer, a group of Pinellas County Schools middle school students spent two weeks learning about the connections between music and literacy at the first-ever IGNITE Music Camp at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School. Students spent seven days preparing for a multidimensional show, featuring vocals, instrumentals and dance performances. This camp was funded by the Pinellas County Referendum.
The Referendum is a half-mill tax that helps Pinellas recruit and retain outstanding teachers; strengthen reading, music and art programs; and provide up-to-date technlogoy.
