School Board selects new superintendent
May 17, 2022
At the special-called meeting on Tuesday, Board members unanimously decided to move forward with contract negotiations with Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Kevin Hendrick.
Before he was appointed Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Mr. Hendrick was a longtime principal for Northeast High School. He has also served as Director of High School Education for Pinellas County Schools. He joined the district as a teacher at Pinellas Park High in 1997. He also taught for several years at Dunedin High School, where he served as athletic director.
Superintendent Dr. Michael Grego plans to retire at the end of the school year.
Advertisements for the position were posted from March 14-April 13. The board identified three finalists, and conducted onsite interviews as well as a Meet and Greet event with the candidates. The employment contract with Mr. Hendrick will be placed on an agenda for board approval at the earliest opportunity.
