Carwise Brings the HEAT Walk to benefit HEAT

On Saturday, April 30th, the Carwise chapter of the National Junior Honor Society sponsored the Carwise Brings the HEAT Walk to benefit HEAT.  Posters promoting the event stated: Help Educate All in Transition

HEAT is a program meant to help students under the age of twenty-one with their education. HEAT collaborates with school districts and communities to raise money and materials for all students in transition.

Dr. Christine Cantrell,  Homeless Liaison for HEAT, and Ms. Jennifer Eaton, Carwise Social Worker & school HEAT liaison joined us to kick off the walk.  NJHS members, their families and friends along with school principal, Chad Eiben & 8th grade assistant principal, Asimina Patton, were part of the crowd of 85 that gathered for the first Carwise Brings the HEAT walk.  This event raised about $1100 to benefit the students served by HEAT.
