Introducing Assistant Principal Toni Powers

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Toni Powers. I am very excited and honored to serve the Safety Harbor Middle School Learning Community as the 6th grade assistant principal. Throughout my 24 years working in the Pinellas County School District, I have worked as an educator, reading coach, magnet coordinator and administrator in both elementary and middle school levels. My most recent experience being the Center for Gifted Studies Assistant Principal/Magnet Coordinator for Grades 6 - 8 and the 7th Grade Steam Assistant Principal at Dunedin Highland Middle School. I am married and have three sons, all of which have attended Pinellas County Schools. As an educational leader, it is my responsibility to ensure our students have a safe, student-centered learning environment that contains rigorous curriculum where all students can experience academic success. This coupled with a belief that in working together for our students we can inspire them to become life-long learners equipped with a growth mindset where they believe in themselves and know they can accomplish anything they put their minds to.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you and your child!
