Pinellas County Schools has been named as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the nation!

For the 3rd year in a row, Pinellas County Schools has been named as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the nation! The designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to providing music access and education to all students. Just six Florida districts earned this designation.

The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. The winning districts have demonstrated an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education. The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit foundation that advances active participation in music.

Since 2004, the local community has supported the Pinellas County Schools Referendum, which helps fund equitable art and music programs throughout the school district. Thanks to the Referendum, all schools receive funding for music, theater and dance equipment, technology, sound systems, uniforms and materials that support award-winning performing arts programs. Teachers and students have opportunities to work with nationally recognized conductors and artists. The Referendum also supports partnerships with professional arts organizations, which bring performing artists into schools, and provide field trips and performance opportunities for students each year.
