Officer Mike ZellnerOfficer Mike Zellner, a distinguished veteran with 22 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer.  Officer Zellner is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both military and civilian roles. Raised in the Washington D.C. area, Officer Zellner dedicated his career to life-saving and security, serving as a helicopter swimmer. His impressive qualifications include training on a 378-foot ship, RHI small boat, HH60 and HH65 Helicopters, C130 and HU25 Aircraft. Additionally, he is a certified Emergency Medical Technician, Survival Instructor, Hand-to-Hand Combat Instructor, and Firearms Instructor, among other roles.  Officer Zellner's service is marked by numerous accolades, including two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, five Achievement Medals, and various other commendations for his exemplary dedication.

Following his distinguished military career, Officer Zellner transitioned to law enforcement, leveraging his extensive background to contribute to school safety. He initially served as a School Security Officer with Pinellas County Schools, where he spent three years ensuring a safe environment for students and staff.  His dedication to public safety led him to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department as a Sheriff's Deputy, where he further honed his skills in law enforcement.  Returning to the Pinellas County Schools police as a Schools Resource Officer, Officer Zellner continues to play a crucial role in safeguarding the school community.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Officer Zellner has demonstrated a deep commitment to coaching and mentoring through sports. Over the past two decades, he has played and coached various sports, including baseball, football, mixed martial arts and gymnastics. His involvement in athletics reflects his passion for teamwork, discipline, and personal development, which he carries over into his roles as a law enforcement officer and community leader.
