James R. Miller

Sergeant James “Jim” Miller is a product of Pinellas County Schools, beginning with Lynch Elementary, then Meadowlawn Middle School and finally, a 1987 graduate of Northeast High School. Sergeant Miller is a graduate of West Virginia State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice Administration.  

Sergeant Miller was hired by Pinellas County Schools in September 2019 and is currently in his 34th year of law enforcement. Sergeant Miller’s career began in Charlotte, North Carolina. He returned to Florida in 2001, where he was hired by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. His assignments included Field Training, Community Policing, Narcotics Investigations, School Resource Officer, Homicide, SWAT, SWAT Instructor, Active assailant Instructor, and finally, supervision.

Sergeant Miller is not married and has two adult children with careers in the medical and accounting fields.
