Summer Bridge Information: New 5/14/2020
This is for all current grades K-8 students, including current 8th graders who will be 9th graders in the school year 2020/2021
Pinellas County Schools has designed a highly engaging, theme-based virtual summer bridge program for all students this coming summer. Students will have the opportunity to receive instruction on standards that have been deemed essential in preparation for the upcoming school year. They will be engaged in virtual field trips, high-interest text each week that is connected to the weekly theme, as well as small group instruction for students requiring additional support. We will have teachers from Cross Bayou Elementary supporting our students in grades K-4, so they will have a familiar face this summer.
There will be opportunity for enrichment, as well as remediation based on the individual need of the student.
The dates and times for students for virtual summer bridge will be June 8 – July 16, Monday – Thursday for 2 hours each day. Your child’s time will vary based on small group instruction times but should be between the hours of 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. More information for times will be provided from your child’s summer bridge teacher when we know which students will be participating.
Current 5th grade students are eligible to participate in the summer bridge program at the Middle School they will be attending. Use the summer bridge link on our website to register.
At this time there is no summer VPK scheduled because it cannot be conducted virtually. If additional information about summer VPK becomes available, I will send information to families via a phone message.
