Weekly Updates

General Announcements:

Ø  Our office hours are 6:45am to 3:00pm

Ø  Parents who plan to drop off and pick up their son/daughter at school need to use the drop off circle in the lot on 58th Street South.  Please do not drop off/pick up your child in any other location on our campus or on side streets near our school.  Using the drop off circle helps keep all of our children safe as they travel to and from school

Ø  Students who walk to and from school should remember to stay alert at all times by watching for traffic.  Be sure to use the crosswalks to help ensure drivers can see you and never assume the driver of an oncoming car actually sees you until they stop!

Students and parents should thoroughly review our website, www.pcsb.org/bocaciega-hs:

·         BLUE/GOLD calendars for August and early September

·         Summer reading lists – need to be completed by the first day of school

·         Homeroom list for our first day of school

·         New student orientation information powerpoint

·         Parent and community monthly meeting options

·         Graduation requirements – one for each grade level

·         BCHS dress code

·         2015-2016 senior and early graduate fees and activities timeline

Student ID’s can be printed in the CWMP Office in building six, the Fundamental Office in building one, or the Traditional Office in building four.  Starting after lunch on Monday, 8/24, students can get a pass from their teacher to one closest office to print their ID if they do not already have one

Locks can be purchased for $4.00 in the fundamental office

Extended Learning Opportunities:  Our after school extended learning program (ELP) will begin on Tuesday, 9/1/15.  ELP will be available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:15pm to 3:15pm in room 4-101.  You can pick up ELP registration forms in room 4-101, the guidance offices, Ms. Harris in 4-145, or Mr. Bernstein in 4-126.  Our ELP offers credit recovery, course tutoring, and PSAT, ACT, SAT, PERT, PSAT, FCAT, EOC, and ASVAB assessment preparation.

Student Parking:  Any student who wants to park on our campus needs to come to the bookkeeping office to purchase a required parking permit for $5.00.  Be sure to bring your driver’s license, car registration, and proof of insurance.  For an extra $10.00 ($15.00 total) seniors can select and personalize one of our numbered spaces in the student lot for the 15-16 school year.    Students must park in the lot that is north of 7th Avenue.  Remember that parking on campus is a privilege!

Free Breakfast and Lunch:  Under a federal program (CEP), all students at The BCHS will be able to receive a free breakfast and a free lunch this year.  If students do not know their keypad password yet, they will receive their number on their schedule on the first day of school.

Our fall sports are up and running.  Below is a contact list for all of our fall, winter, and spring sports, please be sure to contact the respective coach if you need participation information and paperwork:
