Woodlawn Elementary

Home of the Dolphins

Principal's Message

We are into our testing time--March and April. Each grade has different tests on different dates, but parents can help in many ways. Be sure your child maintains a routine--especially on school nights--that involves healthy eating, homework/study time, activity time, and an early bed time.

On this page, in the upper right hand corner, we have various web links. We recently added a new link to KidCareFlorida, which will give you information about getting your children medical insurance. The state of Florida offers insurance for children ages birth to 18, often even if one or both parents are working. I recommend that you check it out if you do not currently have health insurance for your children.
Also, please keep checking back to see what upcoming events we have on our schedule. We have a busy and exciting spring, with class pictures, spring break, a family science night, a spring festival, and our spring concert.
Through many of these activities we are continuing to build a strong foundation for our students and a relationship with our families.

If your child checked out a Title I Connect for Success laptop this year, please return it to your child’s school for mandatory inventory, updating and maintenance between April 13th and April 17th, 2015.  If your child is currently enrolled in Kindergarten through fourth grade, the laptop may be reissued to your child for summer extended learning once the inventory process has been completed.  Contact your school’s Connect for Success Liaison, Monica Taylor, 727.893-1857, ext. 2016, for any questions you may have.

                          HATS OFF!!
The saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is really true here at Woodlawn. We could not be nearly as positive and effective without our many business partners. We appreciate all of their support, and contributions, large or small. We continue to get the support of an ever greater community base and wish to thank these businesses for their contributions for both our students and our teachers. If you notice that these particular contributions look more teacher-oriented, that is because Teacher Appreciation Week is coming in May!  One of our community-involvement staff members has been working to make that week a special one for teachers!
