Welcome to John M. Sexton Elementary School! We are home to the Sexton Stingrays. Sexton is a community school built in 1997. We are located on 54th Avenue North, adjacent to Meadowlawn Middle School and Northeast High School. Sexton's caring community of staff, parents, and volunteers work together to enrich the lives of all our students. Sexton has always and will continue to provide a well-rounded education for all our students.

Sexton Elementary is proud to be a Gold Award winner for the Alliance of Healthy Schools. We are 1 of two in the state of Florida and 1 of 10 in the United States. We salute our students, families and teachers for making a commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Jen Velez has lead this effort for us for the past 6 years, as we progressed from Bronze to Silver and now the Gold level.
