Lakewood High School’s student body has been invited to a student-led Unity Walk organized by Clearwater High School’s Civil Rights Ambassadors. The purpose of this event is to recognize key people who have stood for equality or human rights, celebrate their impact, and inspire others to continue their work.
“It’s a great opportunity for our students to come together in support of civil rights,” Milisa Samm said.
The Unity Walk will start at the marina right off Clearwater Beach, and all participants will walk together across the Clearwater Causeway Bridge to Coachman Park. The event will take place on Jan. 28 during school hours, and buses will be provided.
If you’re interested in representing Lakewood High School as a participant of the Unity Walk speak to social studies teacher Milisa Samm, coordinator Principal’s Multicultural Advisory Committee, in room C206. There is a limit of 30 students per school who can attend, so students who are interested are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
