The vision of Meadowlawn Middle School is an academic environment that engages, motivates, and inspires students. 100% Student Achievement
The mission of Meadowlawn middle School is to create a productive learning environment focused on producing self-disciplined students who will develop skills to become life-long learners.
Registration for Summer Bridge is continuing. Please contact Ms. Brake (Ext. 2007) at the school, she will complete the registration process for your child.
Effective Monday 4/24 personal checks will not be accepted for payment to the school. We can only accept money orders, bank checks or cash.
There will be a final SAC meeting on Thursday 4/27/17 at 6:30pm to elect new officers for the 17/18 school year.
On Thursday and Friday of this week our musical theater group will be presenting our annual production. This year we are presenting Into the Woods @ 7:00pm each evening in our multi-purpose room.
On Friday after school the PTSA will be sponsoring a school dance from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.
Our annual State Assessment testing window started on Monday 4/10. This week our 8th grade students will be completing their reading and math FSA tests. We continue to ask you to refrain from setting appointments that would take your child out of school during this period. Please remind your child that having any electronic devise on their person in a testing location will require that their test be disqualified. Your assistance in having your child in school every school day, rested and cooperative is essential to a successful testing season.
Please note that the last progress report grades were sent home on 4/21. Remind your child that a failing grade in one of the four core academic classes will require attendance in Summer Credit recovery and possible retention. I will caution all 8th grade families. Failing one core academic course for the school year will require that the 8th grade student remain in middle school for the 17/18 school year and repeat the entire year. An excellent grade this quarter may be enough to avoid this outcome.
Parents as we get into the last month of the school year, if your child rides to school on a bike, please caution him or her that bike helmets should be worn at all times and students should cross the roads only at the designated crossing guard locations. Students should not be riding bikes through and between traffic.
