    Parents of Exceptional Education Students:
Due to the mandatory closure of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, all students, including students with disabilities, will be participating in remote learning. Your child will receive comparable services to his or her current IEP, to the extent possible, during the closure of schools. When schools reopen and your child returns, your child’s current IEP will be implemented, unless the IEP team meets during the closure of schools to review and revise temporary services, ESY or services to be implemented upon schools reopening. Your child's teachers or service providers will be working with you to develop the schedule for your child’s virtual educational services.
If you were scheduled to have an IEP meeting, school staff will contact you to either reschedule the meeting or hold the meeting virtually/telephonically, if appropriate. During the school closures our staff will do its best, taking into account the circumstances, to perform any necessary IEP amendments and evaluations, if it is possible to do so. If the amendments or evaluations are not completed during the school closures, your child’s school will contact you soon after schools re-open to perform the needed work.
We appreciate the support of our families during this unprecedented time as we provide services in this very challenging environment. If you have questions regarding your child’s services, please contact their case manager.
    Lynne Mowatt
    Executive Director, Exceptional Student Education
