Summer Reading 2017
Avoid the "Summer Slide" by reading books this summer!
1. Melrose Scholars can read THOUSANDS of books FOR FREE on!
 Myon summer reading
What's great about Myon is that it automatically tracks your scholar's progress all summer long so that they only have to focus on reading.

If your scholar is reading REAL books this summer they can still win PRIZES from Pinellas county by filling out a reading log form for each book and/or article that they read.

Finally, students who want to participate in Reading with the Rays can read their way to winning free Rays tickets!
Any scholar who documents 24 hours of reading this summer gets a pair of tickets to a Rays game!

"It's Not Over ['til the Last Bell Rings]"
Every day is about "teaching and learning".  We are knee-deep in "testing season" but we are still focusing on teaching new skills and review skills with our scholars.  Every day, every moment, every subject is important!  Continue to send scholars to school on time - every day.

Stand Up & Show Out!
Star Volunteer
Congratulations to our Melrose "Volunteer of the Year" – Mr. Alfred Williams. Mr. Williams has been a dedicated volunteer throughout the 2016/2017 school year.  He has been here every day directing traffic for student arrival and dismissal.  In addition he is a member of “Men of Yesterday, Today and the Future” and has participated in numerous events.  He is an active mentor.  We appreciate all the hard work and dedication of Mr. Williams.  He volunteered 450 hours this school year!
We love Mr. Williams for his support of our school!
Special Thanks to 3rd grade scholar Jamaal Miles and his family for donating the most BoxTops for Education this school year! We've collected $195.00 in funds (1,950 box tops) for our school!
