Katrina Bagu received a letter of congratulations from the Florida Department of Education,
signed by Pam Stewart, Commissioner of Education. The letter was sent congratulating Katrina
for being one of the highest impact teachers in the state. The letter goes on to say that “a recent
analysis of your former students’ performance on statewide standardized
assessments found that your impact on student growth is among the most positive
in the state”. The analysis was based on
student data between 2013 to 2016.
Celimar Rodriguez recognized for 2015/2016 first year Spanish Dual Language Immersion teacher. Celimar integrated technology into lessons, differentiated lessons for diverse student population, and stresses 21st century learning and global environment in the classroom.
Susan Gould was recognized as our school's 2016/2017 outstanding educator of the year.
Several teachers are near their goal of receiving a degree for continuing their education and professional development in Elementary Education with concentration in Science & Math at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Inquiry-based instruction and strategies learned, as well as other effective research-based approaches to learning is currently applied throughout their teaching practices encouraging students to thrive and achieve academic success.
