We are going yellow and green next week! Start with Hello Week is an initiative created by Sandy Hook Promise. It is designed to bring individuals and communities together and look out and care for one another. There will be several activities that will be held throughout the week of September 20th-24th. These activities will encourage kindness and inclusion.
Social isolation is the feeling of being left out, lonely, and treated like you are invisible. In every community, there are children who feel that they have no friends and quietly struggle through each day especially at times when friends gather together. Always remember the three simple steps: See Someone Alone* Reach Out and Help* Start with Hello*
While all students will receive meals at no charge, the application provides other key benefits – additional funding for schools, technology assistance and discounts for students such as clothing and college entrance exams. Online applications for free meal benefits are available at www.myschoolapps.com.
All households are encouraged to apply. Completing the online application is secure, convenient, and worry-free. Results are available within two working days. Eligibility is based on household size and income. Once approved, the benefits are good for the entire year.
