Mrs. Sarah Painter
Mrs. Sarah Painter began her teaching career in Pinellas County in 2003 after completing a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. In her classroom, Mrs. Painter created a culture of teamwork and developed lasting connections. Her students inspired her, whether that be learning through a global pandemic, engaging with rigorous standards or completing complex tasks as a second language learner. Collectively, she and her students chose to find joy in each circumstance. Mrs. Painter received a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida in 2012 and a Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida State University in 2023. Sarah Painter was also selected as the 2022 Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year from among nearly 185,000 Florida educators.
Mrs. Painter also focuses on collaboration with her colleagues. She serves as a teacher leader for both district-wide and school-based initiatives that promote access and achievement through data-driven instruction.
Mrs. Painter volunteers at an after-school Bible club, coaches a team for Girls on the Run and empowers parents to make instructional decisions based on data for their children. As an advocate for foster and adoption, she believes every child should feel a sense of belonging and is aware of how the family is integral towards achieving success in the classroom. She is blessed to share her life with husband Leo and their six children.

Dr. Melissa Wolcott-Crabb
Dear Belcher Bobcat Families,
I am delighted to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Belcher Elementary School. With a passion for education, I am dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment that empowers young minds to flourish.
One fun fact that I enjoy sharing about myself is that I am a Pinellas County native. I am proud to say that I am a product of Pinellas County Schools and feel fortunate that I can give back to the community that I was raised in. My journey in education began fifteen years ago when I embarked on a fulfilling career as a classroom teacher. Over my tenure, I have had the privilege of guiding and inspiring students through various grade levels, witnessing their growth and achievements firsthand. Through the years, I have progressed and gained leadership skills, knowledge, and experience through various positions. My most recent experience was as the Assistant Principal at Brooker Creek Elementary School for three years.
My commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as the highest degree that I have earned is a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. My master’s degree in Educational Leadership was earned from University of West Florida. Lastly, I graduated from St. Petersburg College with my bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education and Elementary Education.
During my off time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog. I also love relaxing at the beach. When we aren’t there, we can be found riding around in our Jeep or taking our vehicles off-road for some extreme adventures!
I am genuinely excited to contribute to the growth and success of Belcher Elementary School, collaborating with our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive community. I am looking forward to an amazing school year! Together, I know we will shape a nurturing educational environment that prepares our students for a bright and promising future!
Sincerely,
Dr. Wolcott-Crabb
