  • Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) at Skycrest

    • Voluntary Prekindergarten studentsVoluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is a free, state-funded program that prepares children for kindergarten. Children must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 of the school year in which they are enrolling.

Guided by the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for 4 year olds, the program provides developmentally appropriate activities in literacy, language, science, social studies, math, health and safety, art and music.

Developing skills children need to be strong readers improves their chances success in school. Most classes have 18 to 20 students and are staffed with a certified teacher and a child development associate. Some classes are blended to include students who receive exceptional student education services. Follow your child’s development using the FOURS Child Development Checklist & Tips booklet.

  • Y Registration

As current participants (or waitlisted) in our School Age Programs, we wanted to be sure you were the first to know PRE-REGISTRATION for the 2021/2022 school year has begun!

    Why pre-register?

    • NO REGISTRATION FEE FOR THE FIRST 100 REGISTERED! Be one of the first 100 participants to enroll in any of our school age programs, and your registration fee will be waived!*First 100 participants enrolled in all service areas including Citrus, Hernando, Pasco and Pinellas Counties.
    • SECURE YOUR SPOT EARLY AND AVOID WAIT LISTS! Current or previous participation in a school age program or camp does NOT guarantee a child's spot. All children must complete a new enrollment for the 21/22 school year, and spots are secured on a first come first serve basis.

In order to avoid a disruption in services, all outstanding balances must be paid in full prior to the first program your child is attending (Summer Camp and/or Before and After Care for school year 21/22). While your child may not attend prior to the balance being paid, you may register them to secure a spot while you work to pay off your remaining balance and as long as spots are available for your chosen program. Accounts will be reviewed prior to the beginning of camp and school year, and any accounts with a balance due are subject to being placed on a wait list until their balance due has been satisfied and provided an open spot is available.
