Principal Eiben's Announcements

  • Weekend Update 11-21-20

Hello, Carwise Middle School families.  This is Mr. Eiben, your principal, reaching out with some weekend and Thanksgiving Break updates.

Just a reminder that there will be no school next week during our Thanksgiving Break.  However, students can keep academically engaged by taking part in the Bingo Thanksgiving Break Challenge.  The challenge is now under way and ends on Sunday, Nov. 29th at 7PM.  I have attached the Bingo Challenge cards to this email.  The top performer in each grade level will receive a $10 gift card to Wal Mart.  Enjoy and good luck!

After Thanksgiving Break, we will begin the distribution of student computers.  If your child is a Traditional student and they are receiving a new laptop, they were given a Parent/Student Responsibility Form this week.  If your child is a MyPCS student and they are receiving a new laptop, you received a message from me on Thursday.  Not all students will be receiving computers as many of our students already received new computers.  Traditional students will receive computers on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  MyPCS students will receive computers on Thursday and Friday.  We look forward to finally getting computers in our students’ hands.

Tuesday, Dec. 1st will be our school picture day.  Please be sure that students come to school dressed appropriately and in dress code.  Pictures for Traditional students will occur through Social Studies classes.  MyPCS families received a link yesterday from Mr. Obara to schedule their picture appointment at Carwise Middle.  Attached is our picture day packet!

Parents, if your child rides a bus to school each day, you can keep updated on any issues by signing up for Bus Bulletin.  Bus Bulletin will notify you by text, phone call, or email if:

    • A bus is late
    • A route has changed
    • There has been an accident

If your child rides a bus, please take advantage of this free service.  Sign-up by going to the following link (http://busbulletin.com/parents ).  The bus bulletin link can also be found on the district website.  Just click on the Transportation button.

Families, the application period for Take Stock in Children Scholarships is open through Jan. 8, 2021.  The scholarships are awarded to Pinellas County public school students in grades 6-9 with demonstrated financial need.  Students are expected to maintain good grades, behavior and attendance, and stay drug and crime free.  Families can learn more and apply at the following website: (https://pinellaseducation.org/initiatives/multiple-pathways/take-stock-in-children/).

Last, I want to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!  Thank you all for you support.  Take care!
