Weekend Update 05-15-22
Hello, Carwise Middle School families. This is Mr. Eiben, your principal, reaching out with your weekend update. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I am looking forward to seeing Shrek the Musical later today at Palm Harbor University High School! I heard last night’s performance was amazing!
This coming week we will continue our EOC assessments for Civics. It is essential that students are well rested and ready to perform. It is also very important that students try their best. Additionally, please be sure your child has their computer fully charged and has their power cord with them. Thank you!
On Monday, Mr. Allison’s and Mr. Schroeder’s Civics students will take their Civics EOC. Students will report directly to their testing location. Also, Monday we will have after school ELP/tutoring in the media center from 4:20 until 5:20PM. Please be sure to pick-up your child in the car circle behind the school. This will be the FINAL week for ELP/Tutoring. Additionally, students who are enrolled in Summer Bridge or Summer Credit Recovery, we will send home bus information sheets on Monday so that you are aware of bus stop locations and times. Busses are only for those who normally qualify for a bus.
On Tuesday, Mrs. Caros’ and Mrs. Zollo’s Civics students will be taking their Civics EOC. Students will report directly to their testing location. Also, Tuesday during 7th period our 8th graders who pre-ordered a yearbook will be receiving them. Afterschool Tuesday we will again have after school ELP/tutoring in the media center from 4:20 until 5:20PM. At 6:00PM we will be having our final PTSA general meeting of the year. This meeting will be virtual on Zoom (meeting link) and will include voting on a bylaw revision, elections for the 22-23 school year, and also a special program on Vaping Awareness by Ryan Sturm from the Pinellas County Schools Prevention Office. Additionally, at 6:30PM we will have our Spring Band concert at East Lake High School.
Wednesday we will have before school ELP/tutoring in the media center from 8:20 until 9:20AM. Please drop off your child in front of the school at the main office. Also, Wednesday during 7th period our 7th graders who pre-ordered a yearbook will be receiving them. Additionally, at 7:00PM we will have our Spring Chorus concert at East Lake High School.
Thursday we will again have before school ELP/tutoring in the media center from 8:20 until 9:20AM. Additionally, on Thursday our 8th grade students will turn in their laptops and chargers, unless they are taking Pre-AP History. These students will turn in their computer after their Pre-AP exam is complete. Please be sure our 8th graders have their computer and chargers ready to turn in. Also, Thursday during 7th period our 6th graders who pre-ordered a yearbook will be receiving them.
Friday will be your last chance to purchase a yearbook. We have a limited number of yearbooks and we will sell them starting at 8:30AM in the front office for $35 CASH ONLY. Also, Friday we will start our district final exams. Students will take exams for their period 1 and period 7 classes. However, students will not take a district exam if they have already taken a state FSA/EOC (reading, language arts, math, science, civics). Below is a link to our final exam testing schedule.
Once again, parent please remember that this coming week is the FINAL week for ELP/Tutoring. Also, credit recovery courses for the 1st semester must be finished by Thursday, May 19th. Please be sure to get these courses finished.
Last, if your child will be attending Summer Bridge, school lunches will no longer be free. School lunch will be $2.75. If you think you may qualify for free lunch, please open the attached flyer and use the link/QR code to register for free lunch.
