     CHILD SIGN-OUT POLICY

Please be mindful of the importance of your child being present for classroom instruction for the full day.  We cannot remove students from instruction unless you have an emergency, or a valid reason that you have prearranged with your child’s teacher. Your child is receiving a valuable education at our school and needs to be in school for a full day from 8:45 to 2:55. It is imperative that your child is in class on time, and stays through until dismissal at the end of the day. Thank you for your support as a partner in your child’s education.

  • Take the 2020 Census:

Ensure that schools and students receive the proper federal funding. This week, homes across the country will begin receiving invitations to complete the 2020 Census. You can respond online, by phone or by email. Pinellas County Schools receives federal funding for breakfast and lunch programs, after-school programs, special education, and the Head Start preschool program. We also receive funding to support students who are learning English and students who are experiencing poverty or homelessness. Any personal information you provide cannot be shared with anyone or any other federal agency. Please complete the Census. Counting all children is essential for our community and our schools to receive the proper amount of funding. Learn more at www.pinellascounty.org/census2020.

  • Exceptional Student Education annual parent survey is underway

The Florida Department of Education has launched its annual Exceptional Student Education Parent Survey. Parents of students in Pre-K through 12th grade who receive special education services can share feedback about how well schools are promoting their involvement in their children’s education. Feedback helps the state and the school district improve educational services for children with special needs and their families. The survey is confidential, but Pinellas County Schools receives overall results and makes changes based on parent feedback. The survey is available at www.esesurvey.com. A paper copy of the survey will also be sent home with students. The survey is open through May 31.
