Mr. Memmer, a civics teacher at John Hopkins, secured a grant recently that will bring a $10,000 museum exhibit to JHMS for the entire month of November.
The exhibit is title Spirits of Passage: Stories of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
"It is a provoking look at a lucrative industry that spanned 400 years and involved almost the entire world,'' Mr. Memmer said. "History, archeology, and personal triumph are all explored in this exhibit. It will consist of 10 free-standing graphic panels that are 36" by 80".
