Since when is raising your hand bad?

On October 18 in C lunch, a group of kids started to clap. Eventually the whole cafeteria followed, clapping, until Mr. Green said to stop.

Then the same group touched three fingers to their mouth and raised their hand like the district 12 solute in The Hunger Games. Almost everyone joined in.

Mr. Green had had enough and said that anyone who doesn’t put their hand down or starts clapping again will get 10-day suspension.

From what I remember raising your hand in school is a good thing. But, apparently we’re not allowed to raise our hands anymore. There are no rules saying you can’t clap in school, so we shouldn’t get suspended for it.

It’s not hurting anyone and it’s not causing academic issues there for we shouldn’t get in trouble for it.
