How to Apply
Disston Academy for Progress and Enterprise serves scholars zoned to Boca Ciega, Dixie Hollins, Gibbs, Lakewood, Northeast and St. Petersburg High schools. Due to the impacts of COVID-19, we will consider applications at the start of a school year or the start of the second semester in January. There are two paths to enrollment at Disston Academy. The first method requires scholars to work with their current school's guidance counselor or administrator. The second method is by direct request where parents and/or scholars may complete the online application process. You are welcome to review our virtual orientation powerpoint to recieve detailed information about our school prior to invitation to attend. Please feel free to apply online today by clicking the link below or stop by and submit your application in person.
The application process includes a review of each student's comprehensive portfolio including but not limited to the transcript, the discipline summary, the attendance record, other pertinent information. A diverse committee of school faculty and staff assists in determining if Disston Academy can provide a safe and supportive environment to foster student success. In most cases, families and the referring schools are notified of the admissions outcome within 72 hours.
