    Connisheia GarciaI am the proud Principal of Lealman Innovation Academy. I am a graduate of the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!), Saint Leo University, and St.  Petersburg College. My key educational philosophy is to ensure that all learners have every opportunity for academic, career, and personal success including voice and choice in how they learn.  Lealman Innovation Academy (LIA) is leading the way as an innovative school that is a place where all learners can be successful.

    Over the past 3 years we have undergone significant changes, reinvented ourselves, and emerged as a model school in Pinellas County Schools for personalized & project-based learning. LIA has a progressive innovative faculty, facility, and we are committed to creating a safe, supportive learning environment for all learners.

    It is my distinct pleasure and honor to serve as Principal of Lealman Innovation Academy and to work with every parent, learner, and faculty member as we strive for 100% learner success. I am looking forward to the promise that this school year holds and know that together there is nothing we cannot overcome and nothing we cannot accomplish!

  • Darrell Kretz

    Darrell KretzI am honored to be returning to Lealman Innovation Academy as the proud Assistant Principal of grades 9 - 12, Assistant Principal for Curriculum, and mathematics. I started my teaching career here and look forward to helping scholars achieve their educational goals.  My philosophy of education is student centered with a focus on helping scholars develop self-advocacy, as well as skills to help them meet personal, academic and career goals.

    I earned degrees from University of South Florida and Saint Petersburg College.  I had the distinct honor of being part of the Teacher for All Children Program (T.A.C.).  I earned my master’s in education with a focus on Varying Exceptionalities and Elementary Education. I have experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school.  The last 12 years I was assistant principal for curriculum at Bayside High.

    I am looking forward to helping our learners move forward as they become self sufficient learners progressing  in their personal, career and academic lives.

  • Terry Roberts

    Mr. RobertsI am proud to be the Assistant Principal of grades 6 – 8 at Lealman Innovation Academy. My teaching career began in Pinellas County Schools in 2001. I have served as a Curriculum Specialist at Azalea Middle School, Teacher on Special Assignment at Azalea Middle School, and as a Classroom Teacher at Pinellas Virtual (K-12) and Tyrone Middle School.

    I earned a bachelor's degree from Florida A & M University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University.  

    My educational philosophy has always been to educate and lead with three things in mind: Simplicity, Patience, and Compassion.  These three are your greatest treasures.
