My ride
Third-grader Shakira Felton rides her bike with one hand in front of her house after school on March 13. “I like riding my bike because I can do tricks and feel the breeze, and it is important to me because my auntie gave it to me for Christmas,” said Shakira, a third-grader in Mrs. Bolden’s class.

My favorite thing I own is my bike. My auntie and cousin surprised me by giving it to me for Christmas. It is pink, gray, white and it says Shakira on the bar between the handlebars and the seat. On the handlebars it says “trouble.”
I ride my bike on my street. I ride it to the park every day with my cousins and brother. It’s fun to ride because it goes fast. I play tricks on it, like riding with no hands and taking my feet off the pedals while I go down a hill. When I ride my bike, I feel free. The wind blows against me and my bike, and it feels peaceful.
