A Day In My Life

My name is Javon Powell. I live with my two brothers, my sister, my aunt and her husband near Dell Holmes Park.
At 6 a.m. I wake up to my 10-year-old sister shaking me. I wash off my face, brush my teeth, put Ax men spay on and put clean clothes and socks on. I eat cereal for breakfast before I leave my house. My favorite is Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
At 8 a.m I ride in my Auntie’s friend’s car to school. It only takes me 10 or 15 minutes. I talk and draw on the way. We stand by the gate and talk to our friends until Mr. Curry or Mr. Lane unlocks it and lets us into school.
At 11:04 a.m. my class goes to lunch. I eat all kinds of things while I talk to my friends in the lunch room. Lunch is relaxing because we don’t have to do work. I like pizza the most because you can’t make a big mess.
At 1 p.m. we do our reading block. My favorite part about reading is that you get to read a lot. Right now I’m reading nonfiction books and biographies. We just read about what illustrators do. I liked learning what their job was.
At 4:15 my mom picks me and my sister up from school. We then pick my brother up from John Hopkins. My sister and I do our homework. Then we play video games like Mortal Combat or Hitman or watch Spongebob or wrestling on television. At dinner time we eat and talk to each other. I say our prayer before we eat. I like eating pizza, rice mixed with veggies and meat and gravy.
