     Graduation Information

    As we quickly approach our 2024 commencement ceremonies, we want to make sure you have all the information to be prepared for your special day.

     

     

    Rehearsal at PGCA- Friday 24th 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM (students only)

     

    Tuesday, May 28, 2024 Ceremony at PGCA 10:00 AM. Students arrive at 9:00 AM.

     

    Caps and Gowns – Pick up at rehearsal.  Return them right after the ceremony.

    Graduation Fee: There is NO FEE for graduation.

     

    Caps and Gowns: Students will be provided a cap and gown to use for graduation and must return it immediately following the ceremony.  Students may keep their tassels and cords.  Please use the reservation link on our website to register the student’s name, height and weight. Without the registration, students will be assigned random sizes.

     

    NOTE: Students wishing to keep their cap and gown are required to purchase one by using the purchase link on our website. 

     

    Rehearsal:  A mandatory ceremony rehearsal at PGCA will begin promptly at 9:00 am.  

     

    Guests:  Graduates may invite as many guests as they wish.

     

    Photographer:  A professional photographer will be available for pictures and no money is needed up front. The photographer will give you a website address to preview and order pictures.

     

    Diploma:  Immediately after the ceremony, graduates will turn in their cap and gown and then receive their diploma.  

     

    Dress Code:  Ladies should wear a skirt, dress, or dress pants.  Gentlemen should wear dress pants, dress shirt and a tie. Both ladies and gentlemen should wear dress shoes.

    GRADUATION FAQ’S FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS

     

     

    1. Can my child attend Summer School and finish up then?

    YES! All students who finish during summer school will be considered an “on time” graduate.

     

    1. What happens if my child does not finish graduation requirements during the summer?

     Students are required to finish at the adult education center closest to the student’s zoned high school.

     

    1. Can my child still participate in the graduation ceremony if he/she has not completed all requirements?

    NO, the student may not participate.

     

    1. Can my child participate in his/her zoned school graduation ceremony?

    It is the parents’ responsibility to contact the student’s school to inquire.

     

     

    1. What are the requirements for my child to finish in time for the May ceremony?

    Coursework, passing reading and math assessments and completion of End of Course Exams.  

     

    If coursework requirements need to be met:

    DEADLINE TO COMPLETE ALL COURSEWORK IS 9:00 A.M. ON May 23, 2024. 

    Students are encouraged to continue to work on their coursework at home on weekends and during non-school hours.

     

     

    1. How can I track my child’s progress?

    As presented during orientation, parents are highly encouraged to log onto your child’s Apex account and view status of coursework.  Parents may also contact the school to schedule teacher conferences.
