The mindset of our professional and caring staff is to do whatever it takes for student success. Our personalized blended learning model provides students the opportunity to complete coursework through both online and teacher-directed instruction. Every student's graduation plan is updated, monitored and celebrated throughout the student’s time spent at PGCA.
We also offer the optional 18 credit graduation diploma and our counselor will provide additional information to interested students.
Both credit accrual and recovery course options are available to students.

As we quickly approach our 2023 commencement ceremonies, we want to make sure you have all the information to be prepared for your special day.
Date: Wednesday, May 24, 2023
Time: Rehearsal at PGCA- 9:00 am – 10:00 am (students only)
Ceremony at LARGO HIGH 4:00 pm -Students must arrive by 3:15 pm
Caps and Gowns – Pick up at PGCA on May 22-23.
Return them right after the ceremony.

Graduation Fee: There is NO FEE for graduation.
Caps and Gowns: Students will be provided a cap and gown to use for graduation and must return it immediately following the ceremony. Students may keep their tassels and cords. Please use the reservation link on our website to register the student’s name, height and weight. Without the registration, students will be assigned random sizes.
NOTE: Students wishing to keep their cap and gown are required to purchase one by using the purchase link on our website.
Rehearsal: A mandatory ceremony rehearsal at PGCA will begin PROMPTLY at 9:00 am. Please do not be late and hold up your fellow classmates.
Guests: Graduates may invite as many guests as they wish.
Photographer: A professional photographer will be available for pictures and no money is needed up front. The photographer will give you a website address to preview and order pictures.
Diploma: Immediately after the ceremony, graduates will turn in their cap and gown and then receive their diploma.
Dress Code: Ladies should wear a skirt, dress, or dress pants. Gentlemen should wear dress pants, dress shirt and a tie. Both ladies and gentlemen should wear dress shoes. JEANS, SHORTS, SNEAKERS and FLIP FLOPS are NOT permitted. Remember, we are celebrating your accomplishments, not your assets, so if you wouldn’t wear it to a job interview, don’t wear it to graduation. Please do not put yourself in jeopardy of not walking with your class because you are not dressed appropriately!

GRADUATION FAQ’S FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS
YES! All students who finish during summer school will be considered an “on time” graduate.
Students are required to finish at the adult education center closest to the student’s zoned high school.
NO, the student may not participate.
It is the parents’ responsibility to contact the student’s school to inquire.
Coursework, passing reading and math assessments and completion of End of Course Exams.
If coursework requirements need to be met:
DEADLINE TO COMPLETE ALL COURSEWORK IS 9:00 A.M. ON May 23, 2023.
Students are encouraged to continue to work on their coursework at home on weekends and during non-school hours.
As presented during orientation, parents are highly encouraged to log onto your child’s Apex account and view status of coursework. Parents may also contact the school to schedule teacher conferences.
Pinellas Gulf Coast Academy offers credit recovery services to students that have fallen behind academically and want to get back on track in terms of graduation.
* We currently have a waitlist. We encourage families to apply. - This waitlist includes applications for our online program.
