Girl in Pearls is a bi-monthly school-based female empowerment program designed to foster leadership for girls in 5th grade and help them plan for a bright future through education, personal responsibility, social awareness, and leadership. Each girl receives a strand of pearls to proudly wear to outwardly identify her as a leader. We ask girls what kind of career they are interested in and try to find female speakers in that area to come and speak to the girls. We also do some hands-on learning by going on a few field trips.
Girls in Peals put on a fashion show this year! Each girl wrote their own bio, outfit description and career goals. They each selected two outfits, one to represent them today, and another to represent their future career goals. They also worked together to set up the room for the event.
