Welcome to Fairmount Park Elementary School! I am Mr. Andrew M. Akapnitis, and it is my absolute honor to serve as your principal. With over 17 years of experience in education, including roles as a school counselor, building and district-level administrator, and assistant principal at Fairmount Park, I am dedicated to leading our school community toward continued excellence and growth.

 My journey in education began from a place of deep appreciation for the impactful teachers who shaped my life. Growing up with an immigrant background, I found my path through the guidance and support of exceptional educators. This inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a difference in students' lives, just as my teachers did for me.

I began my administrative career in 2015, driven by a love and passion for helping to grow both students and staff. At Fairmount Park Elementary, we are committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Our focus is guided by five core priorities:
