Melrose Elementary

Dear Melrose Elementary School Stakeholders:

I am Dr. Carmen J. Harris, proud principal of Melrose Elementary School. Melrose ES has achieved amazing academic feats in the past few years, and more recently, we are excited about what we have accomplished this past year (24-25). We were able to achieve the school grade of a “B” and are looking to go higher. This school year, 2025-2026, our theme is “Data Champions…Charting our way to Success”. We want to celebrate all that we have achieved, while we grow a greater belief in the classroom, within our school culture and while partnering with the community.

Many times, schools are asked “How can we help you?” or “What do you need?”. We recognize that many people, groups and organizations are in different places and have varying levels of capacity to support. We respond to those questions by sharing that we can partner in these ways:

1. You can support us financially. Your funds will help support our major school projects throughout the school year, which can include renovations and student and staff incentives.
2. You can support us with resources. Many people, groups and organizations have access to resources that are beneficial to schools and are looking for ways to provide those resources.
3. You can support us by volunteering at the school. Consider reading to our primary classes, supporting small groups with foundational skills or supporting our school store.
4. Anything that you feel will benefit the work at Melrose Elementary!
