We believe that Music is intrinsic, and in every individual; it is connected to the human spirit and creative mind. We cannot duplicate it through any other form of expression, we cannot quantify it. It exists for its own sake.
Music opens the mind. Ongoing brain research continues to link excelled learning skills with music.
Music teaches more than music. While these characteristics are not specifically tied to the study of music, they are a by-product of the process:
- Establishment of high achievement standards that are transferable to other academic subjects.
- Development of keen problem-solving patterns.
- Establishment of collaborative teamwork habits through communication skills.
- Understanding flexible thinking and adapting the known to the unknown.
- Improvement of reading comprehension, motor proficiency, spatial awareness, and listening ability.
- Mastery of a given challenge while expanding the realm of understanding and pushing self-determined limits (raising of personal standards).
- Increasing self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-discipline.
