Hello Spartan students, staff, families, and community,

My name is Amber Schmittdiel and I am thrilled to be joining the Tarpon Springs Middle School community as the 8^th grade /7th grade M-Z Assistant Principal.

I am originally from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and received my bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History and Middle Level Education from Central Michigan University. I moved to the beautiful Pinellas County in 2011, where I served as ESOL teacher at Safety Harbor Middle School. From there, I became the ESOL Secondary Instructional Staff Developer, providing professional development and support to English Learners throughout Pinellas County. After receiving my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from National Louis University, I became Assistant Principal at Pinellas Park Middle School.

On a personal note, I love spending time with my husband and baby boy, Jackson. We enjoy getting outside, going to the beach, and taking our paddleboards out to explore the Pinellas County waterways.

I am honored to have the opportunity to work alongside the students, staff, families, and community of Tarpon Springs Middle School. My goal is to assist in the facilitation of a learning environment where all stakeholders feel respected and appreciated, with students engaging in rigorous, hands-on learning opportunities.
