Welcome to Ponce de Leon Elementary!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to all of you as the proud Principal of Ponce de Leon Elementary, home of the Panthers!  I am a product of Pinellas County Schools myself and began my career in education in 1998, teaching a variety of grade levels at multiple schools across the district.  I became an Assistant Principal at Sunset Hills Elementary in 2009 before working at the district office as the Elementary Reading/Language specialist.  I began my first principal position in January of 2014 at Frontier Elementary and am now excited to begin a new chapter here at Ponce de Leon Elementary.

As a leader, I have a strong commitment to helping all scholars reach their full potential.  I believe that success is defined in a variety of ways and work with staff to develop scholars both socially and academically with the ultimate goal that when they leave elementary school they are one step closer to college and career readiness.  It is ultimately my responsibility to make sure that our scholars at Ponce de Leon Elementary achieve at the highest levels in the safest learning environment.   I, along with the entire staff, am committed to making this school year a positive experience for you and your family. Your active support and cooperation, combined with our best professional efforts, will ensure that your child has the most successful year ever!

Should you have any questions during this school year, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 588-3573, or via email at bergmant@pcsb.org

I look forward to working with all of our scholars and families this school year!

Go Panthers!
