High Point Elementary Technology Computer Lab
It would be hard to find a school with as much technology as High Point Elementary. With thanks to Title 1 funds and some true visionaries through the years, High Point Elementary is on the forefront of different, innovative technology in our school. Many schools in our district come to High Point to see, hear, and experience how technology has enhanced our environment and our students learning.

High Point also has the vision (make that hearing) to add LightSpeed audio enhancements throughout each classroom and library. This helps students learn by providing clarity of voice and even sound distribution throughout the classroom. It raises the teachers voice above the ambient noise level in the classroom. It also reduces teacher fatigue and vocal related issues. It allows students to hear the speaker wherever they place themselves in the room. It is also an opportunity for students to practice classroom speeches and presentations for entire room to hear.
Digital Presenters Digital Presenters
Remember overhead projectors? Not many teacher's at High Point do. High Point is fortunate to have digital presenters that will project, in color, anything put under it.
Teachers use these projectors to read books, stories, word problems, and even student created work. It is amazing to see a student's work on 6 foot screen in the front of the room.
SMARTBoards High Point Teacher using the SMARTBoard
At High Point Elementary, every classroom is equiped with a SMARTBoard. The SMARTBoard is an interactive whiteboard that allows the operator to touch the screen to manipulate the computer it is attached to. The computer projects the image to a projector mounted on the ceiling and the teacher or students have control of what can be written or done on the SMARTBoard.
Technology Activities Computer Lab
Technology activities at High Point Elementary include staff development training for all teachers as well as teacher web pages.
For students, a weekly computer class, digital camera activities and development of multi-media presentations.
