    About Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School

Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School, home of the Phantoms, was founded in 1975 and currently serves sixth through eighth grade students in the middle Pinellas county area. Named after former Largo Middle School Principal Morgan Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald middle has been a pioneer in education since its inception.  The school was recognized both nationally and internationally for the implementation of the "house concept," a school design that supports grade level, academic teaming.  The physical plant was designed specifically to facilitate the house concept, providing a sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade house each with its own office, teachers' workroom, and student restrooms.

In 2009, Fitzgerald Middle opened one of three Middle School Centers for Gifted Studies in Pinellas County servicing gifted students in mid-county. The Middle School Centers for Gifted Studies is a school within a school magnet model designed to meet the unique academic and social/emotional needs of adolescent gifted students through full-time gifted services.  To learn more about this program, please visit Middle School Centers for Gifted Studies.
