Dear High Point Elementary Community:
It is with great pride, and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of High Point Elementary School. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to lead a school with committed teachers and staff within a community dedicated to support student success and growth. Throughout my fifteen years in education, I have worked with a variety of students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten through High School. My most recent administrative experience was in San Jose, California where I served as Principal of Reed Elementary School for a period of five years. Prior to my site leadership experience, I held program and behavioral specialist positions at Gilroy and Benicia School District offices serving students with special needs across K – 12. I know what it’s like to build academic excellence across a wide spectrum of student needs and capabilities. I’m excited and eager to work side by side with you to elevate opportunities for our students at High Point Elementary School.
In conjunction with our awesome teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. Our students will always be the center of what we do! We will focus on systematic, consistent and rigorous implementation of our curriculum. We will use data to drive academic excellence in instruction while providing a safe, caring, yet challenging, learning environment for our students.
As your Principal, it’s critical that everyone who steps through our doors is excited and happy to be here - we will continue to build upon the High Point Experience! Once again, I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn from all of you and to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know each of you along with your wonderful children. Go Eagles!
Ms. Melody Mendoza
