S.P.R.O.U.T is a highly effective short-term intervention of daily one-to-one lessons as well as small-group lessons grounded in the science of reading that supplements good classroom teaching for the lowest-achieving kindergarten, first, and second-grade students. It is designed as a short-term intervention that typically lasts between 12 and 20 weeks for the most struggling first grade students. Highly skilled teachers provide the one-to-one instruction for the children who are at the most risk of reading failure.
Ponce has two S.P.R.O.U.T. teachers that service our students in this program throughout the school year.
