Bay Point MS AVID Goals:
All AVID students pass at least one high school credit class while in middle school.
All AVID students apply and be accepted to a high school magnet program.
AVID at BPMS encourages students to raise their own standards of themselves through dedication to academics and citizenship. The AVID elective inspires student leaders through motivation. The AVID elective provides support and encouragement on an individual level that helps each student work towards their full potential.
The AVID curriculum is a blend of reading and writing foundations, learning through inquiry and collaboration, and organizational strategies. Students are exposed to a variety of content regarding current events as well as college and career exploration.

Students bring problems from other classes.
Students work in groups with college student tutors asking questions to help each other work through their problems.
Students complete pre- and post- work to identify problems and deepen their understanding of concepts.
