Teaching Philosophy

My name is Scott Michael Browning and I am a teacher, performer and songwriter who has been changed by the performing arts and would love to have the opportunity to work with you.

I have had the privilege to present at the Florida Music Educator's Association (FMEA) conference, the Elevate ARTS Summer Institute and at the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME).

As a Creative Arts educator my philosophy starts with the child. Recognizing that we were once children and that we are more than the sum of our test scores, formative & summative assessments or end-of-season concerts, I believe in meeting each child where they are on their journey and helping them simply move forward. Much of the time this does not start with the lesson about music theory or singing a major scale, but starts with building up the whole child.
