Weekly Message for the Week of 11-4-24
Good evening, Green Devil Families!
Here is your November 4th weekly update for school events and information:
*The Great American Teach-In is scheduled for November 13, 2024. You are invited to SPHS for an hour, a few class periods, or the entire school day to share information with students about your career or hobby. If you are interested in presenting, please contact Kanesha Howard, College and Career Readiness coordinator at 727-893-1842 ext. 2331 or howardkan@pcsb.org .
* Please mark your calendars and join us for this year’s fall production of The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare. The lesser known comedy of Shakespeare spreads laughter will teaching a lesson of virtue, honesty, forgiveness and acceptance. The story surrounds an aging knight who schemes to swindle others while compromising the virtue of others. As always Shakespeare delivers a cast of stock characters, slapstick and age old tale of rebellion and love. Please join us November 21 Thursday and 22nd Friday at 6:30pm and November 23rd Saturday for our matinee at 11:30 am. Tickets go on sale November 13th on gofan.co.
*Senior families, please make sure you are part of a remind group if I you are not already receiving the information updates via text. You can also check out the senior class webpage via the SPHS Website at https://www.pcsb.org/domain/5079 . If you haven’t paid your Senior Dues, you can do so on that webpage as well.
There will be a Senior Class Meeting for all of the Class of 2025 during school at 10:15 on November 4th. Herff Jones will be here to present information regarding graduation announcements and more. Seniors will be given a catalog and order form at that time to bring home if you are interested in purchasing any of the “extra” items. We will also make sure that all measurements for caps and gowns are completed by then. Please reach out to Andrea Anderson our senior class sponsor with any questions (andersonand@pcsb.org).
*Our campus is open from 6:30AM-2:30PM each day. No student should be dropped off before 6:30AM and all students (unless they are in a school sponsored event and with an adult sponsor) should be OFF campus no later than 2:30PM.
Our office hours are 7:00AM to 3:00PM. If you need to sign your child out early from school, please make sure to do so prior to 1:30 PM. NO PTLs will be permitted after 1:30, students cannot be released during the last 25 minutes of the day.
*Underclass PICTURE retake day has been rescheduled to Tuesday, November 5th. Please reach out to Ashlie Flanigan (Flanigana@pcsb.org) with any questions.
*Seniors who have not yet had their senior portraits need to sign up ASAP to get those done. The next on campus roadshow will be on November 6th, or you can book at appointment at Cady’s Tampa Studio (cady.com) for additional dates and times. The deadline for senior photos is 12/31/24 to have them appear in the yearbook. Please reach out to Ashlie Flanigan, our yearbook advisor with any questions Flanigana@pcsb.org

*All students are eligible for FREE breakfast and FREE lunch each and every day. We do still encourage all families to fill out the free/reduced lunch application if you think you are eligible as this will qualify you for free testing waivers and additional scholarship opportunities.
