Weekly Message for the Week of 1-13-25

Good evening, Green Devil Families!

Here is your January 13th weekly update for school events and information:

*Just a heads up for parents, Administrators and School Counselors will be starting to meet with rising 9th, 10th and 11th graders to discuss course request options for the 2025-2026 school year in the next few weeks.  This will be ongoing throughout the month of January and into early February.

*Senior Parents please mark your calendar for a FAFSP information night that we will be hosting here at SPHS on January 27th at 5:30PM in our Media Center.  WE will have representatives from St. Pete College and USF here to help with the FAFSA application.

*If any seniors is in need of assistance completing your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), please reach out to Ms. Howard, our College and Career Readiness Coordinator. Ms. Howard is available after school from 2-3PM for individualized support.  Make your appointment @ 727-893-1842 ext. 2331 or howardkan@pcsb.org.

*Second semester ASVAB testing is scheduled for February 28th at 8:30AM in the Media Center.

*Report cards for Quarter 2/1st Semester will be able in Focus on January 16th.

*Please save the date for our GRADUATION ceremony for the Class of 2025, Thursday, May 29th @7:30PM at the BayCare Sound in Clearwater.  This is a new venue for us so, please stay tuned for more information.

*Senior families, please make sure you are part of a remind group if I you are not already receiving the information updates via text.  You can also check out the senior class webpage via the SPHS Website at https://www.pcsb.org/domain/5079 .  If you haven’t paid your Senior Dues, you can do so on that webpage as well. 

*Our campus is open from 6:30AM-2:30PM each day.  No student should be dropped off before 6:30AM and all students (unless they are in a school sponsored event and with an adult sponsor) should be OFF campus no later than 2:30PM.

Our office hours are 7:00AM to 3:00PM.  If you need to sign your child out early from school, please make sure to do so prior to 1:30 PM.  NO PTLs will be permitted after 1:30, students cannot be released during the last 25 minutes of the day.

Additional notes for this week:

*Save the Date for our Annual Lip Sync Competition GOLD FEVER, it will take place on January 24th in our SPHS Auditorium.  Tickets will go on sale when we return from the holiday break.

*SPHS Football Cheer is currently selling Papa John’s Discount Cards for just $15.  Once you purchase, you have the entire year for 50% off your entire order.  If interested in purchasing one, send your student to 01-124 or see any football cheerleader with $15 cash or check (made out to SPHS Cheer Boosters).  If you ever get take out/delivery pizza, you can’t beat this deal!  Don’t miss out—sales end on 1/21.  You can reach out to Andrea Anderson (andersonand@pcsb.org) with any questions.

 

*Baseball team tryouts are January 13th and 14th.  All baseball events start at 2:30PM at Huggins-Stengel Field.   Please reach out to Coach Julian if you have any questions.

 

*Seniors- the deadline for senior portraits has been extended to January 31st.  You must be photographed by Cady Studios to appear in the yearbook and to have a senior quote.  Please go to Cady.com to book your session.

 

*Senior parents, reserve your senior tribute now!  You only have until the end of February to purchase your page at yearbookforever.com.

 

*Yearbooks are still on pre-sale at www.yearbooksforever.com .  Deadline to purchase a yearbook is February 28th.

* Join the SPHS PTSA today!  $15 for parents and $5 for students, become a member and help support our school, teachers and students. https://stpetehigh.givebacks.com/store?limit=21&live=true

*All students are eligible for FREE breakfast and FREE lunch each and every day.  We do still encourage all families to fill out the free/reduced lunch application if you think you are eligible as this will qualify you for free testing waivers and additional scholarship opportunities.  Please fill out the free and reduced lunch form at:  www.myschoolapps.com
