Weekly Message for the Week of 2-03-25
Good evening, Green Devil Families!
Here is your February 3rd weekly update for school events and information:
*Pinellas County Schools Annual stakeholder survey opens tomorrow Monday, February 3rd through Sunday, February 16th. This is an anonymous survey that we hope you will take the time to submit as the feedback helps us to better out practices. Students can access the survey through their CLEVER accounts. Families can access the survey through the district webpage at www.pcsb.org/survey
*Pinellas County Schools is hosting a South County College and Career Fair at The Pinellas Technical College St. Petersburg Campus, (901 34th Street S) on February 3rd from 6-8PM. The event will feature representatives from top colleges and universities, military recruiters, major employers and vocation schools. There will also be informational sessions for Financial Aid Assistance, Bright Futures and Scholarship Information. To register please click the link below.
*Just a heads up for parents, Administrators and School Counselors have started meeting with rising 9th, 10th and 11th graders to discuss course request options for the 2025-2026 school year in the next few weeks. This will be ongoing throughout the month of January and into early February.
SPHS is hosting a College Planning Fair on Saturday, February 8th here on campus from 9AM – 12PM. This is open to all students. Swing by for the opportunity to receive guidance through the college planning process with lectures, questionnaires and workshops. Students and parents will be able to hear from current college students at schools such as MIT, Cornell, Brown, UCLA and many more while gaining advice from professors and admissions counselors. If you’d like to RSVP, students can use the posters around campus or can swing by and see Mr. Benton in 01-223
*Please save the date for our GRADUATION ceremony for the Class of 2025, Thursday, May 29th @7:30PM at the BayCare Sound in Clearwater. This is a new venue for us so, please stay tuned for more information.
*Senior families, please make sure you are part of a remind group if I you are not already receiving the information updates via text. You can also check out the senior class webpage via the SPHS Website at https://www.pcsb.org/domain/5079 . If you haven’t paid your Senior Dues, you can do so on that webpage as well.
*Our campus is open from 6:30AM-2:30PM each day. No student should be dropped off before 6:30AM and all students (unless they are in a school sponsored event and with an adult sponsor) should be OFF campus no later than 2:30PM.
Our office hours are 7:00AM to 3:00PM. If you need to sign your child out early from school, please make sure to do so prior to 1:30 PM. NO PTLs will be permitted after 1:30, students cannot be released during the last 25 minutes of the day.
Additional notes for this week:
*Please come out and support the Boys’ Lacrosse Team on February 12th anytime from 4PM until 9PM at Tijuana Flats (944 4th Street N)—20% of all sales when the SPHS Boys’ Lacrosse Team is mentioned will go back to the team! You can also use CODE SPNT112 if ordering online. Come on out and hang out or grab some takeout and support a great group of players and coaches! Go Devils!
*Any current 9th, 10th or 11th grade student who is interested in Football Cheer for the 2025-2026 school year needs to plan to attend 1 of the mandatory informational meetings. Those meetings will be during lunch in the Little Theater on February 6th and 10th. Again, students only need to attend ONE of those meetings. They will receive information about the process, paperwork and dates for the Spring Tryouts. Please contact Andrea Anderson (andersonand@pcsb.org) with any questions.
*Seniors- if you did not get your senior portraits in time but, still want to be in the yearbook and have a senior quote, you can have your portrait taken for the yearbook ONLY for free on campus. Yearbook ONLY senior portraits will be taken in the media center on February 7th. No appointment is necessary, just go to the media center when you can on Feb. 7th!
*Senior parents, reserve your senior tribute now! You only have until the end of February to purchase your page at yearbookforever.com. Once they are gone, they are gone and they sell out every year!
*There is one month left for purchasing your yearbook. They are available at www.yearbooksforever.com . Deadline to purchase a yearbook is February 28th. Contact Mrs. Flanigan at flanigana@pcsb.org with all yearbook and senior photo related questions.

*All students are eligible for FREE breakfast and FREE lunch each and every day. We do still encourage all families to fill out the free/reduced lunch application if you think you are eligible as this will qualify you for free testing waivers and additional scholarship opportunities.
