Weekly Message for the Week of 2-17-25

Good evening, Green Devil Families!

Here is your February 17th weekly update for school events and information:

*Reminder that tomorrow, February 17th is a regular school day for students.

*Our next CLT (Classic Literacy Test) is scheduled for this Thursday, February 20th.  This test is for all juniors and seniors who still need to meet the testing requirements (either Reading or Algebra, or both) for graduation. AND for all9th and 10th grade students who have completed Algebra 1 (the course) but, who did not pass the EOC.  We have bootcamp preparation sessions scheduled as follows to help students prepare.

              Algebra Bootcamp- Tuesday and Wednesday (2/18 and 2/19) right after school in room 01-139

              Reading Bootcamp- Monday and Tuesday (2/17 and 2/18) right after school in room 01-146

*Pinellas County Schools Annual stakeholder survey has been extended and is now open through Saturday, February 22nd.  This is an anonymous survey that we hope you will take the time to submit as the feedback helps us to better out practices.  Students can access the survey through their CLEVER accounts.  Families can access the survey through the district webpage at www.pcsb.org/survey

*Just a heads up for parents, Administrators and School Counselors have started meeting with rising 9th, 10th and 11th graders to discuss course request options for the 2025-2026 school year in the next few weeks.  This will be ongoing throughout the month of January and into early February. Students can get additional information related to course selections for the 2025-2026 school year by visiting our SPHS website at https://www.pcsb.org/Page/43552

*Our next SAC meeting will be held on Monday, March 10th at 6PM.  This meeting is open to all who would like to attend.

*Students interested in Dual Enrollment for next school year, please be sure and provide your counselor the SPC ID number you received after you applied.  See your School Counselor if you need any assistance.

*Please save the date for our GRADUATION ceremony for the Class of 2025, Thursday, May 29th @7:30PM at the BayCare Sound in Clearwater.  This is a new venue for us so, please stay tuned for more information.

*Senior families, please make sure you are part of a remind group if I you are not already receiving the information updates via text.  You can also check out the senior class webpage via the SPHS Website at https://www.pcsb.org/domain/5079 .  If you haven’t paid your Senior Dues, you can do so on that webpage as well. 

*Our campus is open from 6:30AM-2:30PM each day.  No student should be dropped off before 6:30AM and all students (unless they are in a school sponsored event and with an adult sponsor) should be OFF campus no later than 2:30PM.

Our office hours are 7:00AM to 3:00PM.  If you need to sign your child out early from school, please make sure to do so prior to 1:30 PM.  NO PTLs will be permitted after 1:30, students cannot be released during the last 25 minutes of the day.

*Senior parents, reserve your senior tribute now!  You only have until the end of February to purchase your page at yearbookforever.com.  Once they are gone, they are gone and they sell out every year!

 

*Reminder to buy your yearbook now before the deadline passes.  They are available at www.yearbooksforever.com .  Deadline to purchase a yearbook is February 28th.  Contact Mrs. Flanigan at flanigana@pcsb.org with all yearbook and senior photo related questions.

*All students are eligible for FREE breakfast and FREE lunch each and every day.  We do still encourage all families to fill out the free/reduced lunch application if you think you are eligible as this will qualify you for free testing waivers and additional scholarship opportunities.  Please fill out the free and reduced lunch form at:  www.myschoolapps.com
