Principal Eiben's Announcements

  • Weekend Update 05-07-21

Hello, Carwise Middle School families.  This is Mr. Eiben, your principal, with your weekend update.  I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend.

This coming week our Traditional students will be taking their FSA Reading test on Monday and Tuesday.  Please ensure that students are well rested and ready to give their best.  Sixth grade students will be taking a paper-based test, while seventh and eighth graders will be taking a computer-based test.  This means that our seventh and eighth grade students need to have their computers fully charged and ready to go.  Also, they will need to bring headphones with them.  Please ensure that the headphones work with your computer prior Monday.  Thank you!

Later in the week many our MyPCS students will be taking their Math FSA.  MyPCS testing schedules may vary.  Please reach out if you have questions regarding the testing dates that you have selected.

Also, I have attached both the Traditional and MyPCS testing schedules in case you did not receive them previously.  Again, please reach out if you have any questions regarding testing.  Thank you!

This coming Tuesday, May 11th will be our final School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting for the school year at 5:30PM on Zoom.  If you are interested in attending, please let me know and I will send you the Zoom link.  Thank you!

The Carwise NJHS chapter is sponsoring a VIRTUAL walk-a-thon to benefit H.E.A.T. from Pinellas County Schools.  HEAT supports the 4000+ homeless students in our schools.  Please support this NJHS fundraiser by making a minimum donation of $10.  The link to donate directly to HEAT is on the attached flyer.  Please add Carwise NJHS when you make your contribution online. Then enjoy a walk on Saturday, May 15th

Still more future events to keep you posted…CMS will have our final Orchestra Concert at East Lake High School on Friday, May 21st at 7PM.  Also, we will have our final PTSA meeting of the school year on Wednesday, May 26th at 6:30PM on Zoom (https://zoom.us/j/94252284000).  Additionally, we will have our final Band Concert at East Lake High School on Thursday, May 27th at 7PM.

A big Shout Out to our awesome PTSA for all the great treats that were provided to the CMS Staff!  Thank you so much for all you do!!!!

Last, as summer gets closer, don’t forget that Pinellas County Schools will be offering the Summer Bridge enrichment program.  This will be a great way to keep students academically engaged over the summer.  This will be an in-person program and will include electives (music or PE).  Also, breakfast and lunch are included for everyone, and bus transportation, for those that qualify.  Check out the attached flyer or lean more on the PCSB website (www.pcsb.org/summerbridge).

Thank you, Carwise Middle School families and staff for all you do to support our school.  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  Also, I want to wish all our mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow.  Take care!
