  • July 18th ACT Information for Preregistered Students:

    Important Information for Students Participating in the ACT at The BCHS on July 18, 2020

    **All test takers and test staff will be required to wear an approved facial mask throughout the test day**

    Please note the following CDC (Center for Disease Control) screening questions. If you are unsure or can answer yes to any of the following questions you should stay home from the ACT exam on test day. We will instead schedule you for a future ACT test date:

    Health screening questions:

    1. Have you tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
    2. Have you had any of these symptoms in the last 14 days?
      1. Fever greater than 100 degrees
      2. Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
      3. Cough
      4. Chills
      5. Muscle pain
      6. Sore throat
      7. New loss of taste or smell
    3. Are you experiencing fever, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, a cough, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell at this time?
    4. Have you been in close contact with someone displaying these known symptoms of COVID-19?
    5. Have you been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or who has tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
    6. Have you traveled outside the country or to any high-risk locations in the last 14 days or been in close contact with someone who traveled to high-risk locations in the past 14 days?

    If you are free of COVID 19 symptoms or you have been exposed to COVID-19 (but are medically cleared) then please take note of the following test day items.  All test takers need to bring:

    1. a mask (must wear at all times, if not worn then student will be dismissed)
    2. gloves (Optional, if needed or wanted)
    3. hand sanitizer
    4. your own pencils
    5. calculator
    6. test ticket
    7. Photo ID (must be a valid, current driver license, passport or school ID)


    Please report to the test center no later than 7:30 am. ACT test will take place in BUILDING 1 (not Building 4 as usual). Parking is in the main lot on 58th Street and all test takers will enter through the main lobby entrance of BCHS.



    Senior Graduation Information:


    We would like to thank our supportive families, communities, and (most importantly) our graduates for participaing in our Graduation Processional At Spectrum Field on Thursday (7/9) morning.  The ongoing and unwavering support for our students is what matters most, and our staff is excited to have had the opportunity to formally recognize these successful young adults on their completion of high school.  Any senior who has questions or needs to pick up graduation related items, diploma, or their pre-purchased yearbook can do so in our front office Mondays-Thursdays between the hours of 7:30am and 5pm.

    Senior Transcript Requests:

    Seniors who need trasncripts can email Ms. Parras at and provide her specific instructions where your final transcript needs to be sent. Include:

    • Your full name
    • Name of College
    • Address to mail transcripts OR
    • Email to send transcripts


    General Announcements:

    We hope our students and families have a safe and relaxing summer together.  Although our campus remains closed, we will have a limited number of staff members on campus to assist you if we are unable to support you via email or phone.  For the months of June and July our main lobby office area will be open from 7am to 5pm Mondays-Thursdays.



    Looking Ahead to the 2020-2021 School Year:

    • Our school clinic is providing sports physicals by appointment only through August 11th betweent the hours of 8am and 2pm.  To schedule an appointment please call 727-249-7591 (between the hours of 8am and 4pm).  Please review this flyer -> Sports Physicals Information.  The complete parent consent packet is available using this link -> Physicals Consent Packet .
    • Summer Schedule Corrections Process:  Our student course schedules are viewable in 20-21 FOCUS for all students and parents.  Over the summer months we will continue to enroll new students and balance/cap class sizes to ensure the best instructional learning opportunity for all students.  Until our counselors return on July 27th, all schedule correction requests need to be emailed to the respective program Assistant Principal listed below:
      • Traditional Program, student last name A-L:  Mr. Lane ->
      • Traditional Program, student last name M-Z:  Dr. Craun ->
      • Fundamental Program, student last name A-Z:  Ms. Van Dora ->
      • Medical Program, student last name A-Z:  Ms. Fabrizio ->
      • Schedule corrections are intended for students who have the incorrect course in their schedule, not for requests to change electives, change teachers, or change class periods.  The respective assistant principal will review the email request and respond as soon as possible
    • Band Camp is scheduled from 7/27 through 7/31 from 8am to 5pm daily.  If you are scheduled to a Band course, please email Mr. Sipiora for more details ->
    • We are planning to facilitate optional Advanced Placement Bootcamps on:
      • Wednesday, 7/29, from 8am to 11am and noon to 3pm for incoming 9th grade students scheduled to AP Psychology, AP Computer Science Principles, and/or AP Human Geography
      • Thursday, 7/30, from 8am to 11am and noon to 3pm for returning 10th-12th grade students scheduled to AP World History, AP US History, AP English Language Composition, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus
      • Please mark your calendar for these bootcamp dates/times and we will release more information as soon as possible
    • Our 20-21 Annual Title I Parent Meeting will be at 6pm on Monday, 8/3/20, in our CWMP Auditorium, which will be immediately followed by our first 20-21 SAC meeting.  We encourage all parents to join us for this informational planning session as we prepare to open up another fantastic year together at The BCHS!
    • Our orientation for incoming 9th grade students (and grade 10-12 students who are new to The BCHS) will be on Tuesday, 8/4, starting at 5:30pm in our main auditorium
    • The first day of school for students in Wednesday, 8/12/20, when we will start at 7:10am with a homeroom period
    • Parent and student Back to School Night will be on Wednesday, 8/26/20, from 6pm to 7:30pm.
