DAILY ARRIVAL AND PICK-UP PROCEDURES FOR CARS AND BUSES

 

PreK and VPK Arrival and Dismissal

 Arrival and dismissal procedures are different from the other grade levels. The teachers will give parents specific instructions, since parents are required to walk their children in and sign them in and out.

 

Kindergarten – 5th grade Arrival

Car riders: you may drop your children off no earlier than 8:15 AM using the 5th Avenue North entrance only. Students will be directed to the cafeteria for breakfast, then to their waiting areas. Those who eat at home will go directly to classrooms in Kindergarten, the 1st grade hallway for1st graders, and the auditorium for 2nd through 5th graders.

 

We have adult supervision in addition to our student Safety Patrols to unload cars along the entire covered sidewalk (after the crosswalk), but students may exit cars at any gate from the passenger side of the car.

 

Students arriving by bus will be directed to the Media Center gate. After entering through the Media Center gate, bus riders will either go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast or to their assigned waiting area.

 

Students arriving on foot or by bicycle may enter at the Media Center gate or the K-Pod gate. These gates, like the car line gate, will open at 8:15am and close at the first bell at 8:35am.

 

After the first bell, students will need to go to the front office to enter the school building. After the tardy bell at 8:45am, students will need to be escorted into the office by an adult in order to get a tardy slip.

 

Kindergarten – 5th grade Dismissal

Students will be released from class by announcements. Car-riding students will be seated in the car line area until their car and gate color are announced over the loudspeaker. Students will meet their car at their assigned gate. Our main goal is to load many children as safely and efficiently as possible by loading seven cars at a time.

 

The car line gate will be opened at 2:50pm. Cars may not enter the bus circle before 3:10pm.

 

Students exiting through the Media Center gate and the K-Pod gate will be released at the bell at 2:55pm. These gates are for exiting only. They will be closed after the last child or at 3:10pm.

 

Students remaining at the walking gates or in the car line after 3:10pm will be escorted to the front office to await pick-up.
