WSKY TV Studio

  • The Skyview students begin their day with the Skyview Student TV Channel 4 Morning Show.

Audio & Video Mixers Each morning classrooms tune in to get the latest important school announcements. The show is produced by fifth-grade students and is broadcast from the WSKY TV studio in the Media Center. In addition to performing a valuable service for their classmates, the TV crew learns about all aspects of Video production from running the cameras, soundboard, mixer, computer, and delivering an effective on-screen performance. The closed circuit programs include videos, music, announcements and taped coverage of school activities.

Three teams of six students rotate every six weeks to produce the daily News Program. To remain on the WSKY staff, students must maintain A's, B's, & C's and have acceptable Conduct grades on their report card.

Officially designated WSKY after a contest in which the students themselves chose the call letters, the 15 year-old project offers students an opportunity to work in various aspects of television broadcasting. The student produced programs have won three third place "EMA" or Educational Media Awards in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
